Homeowner Summer Maintenance Checklist

Homeowner Summer Maintenance Checklist

Once the heat hits we all turn to our favourite hobbies, friendly meetups, and taking the time to soak up the sun, unfortunately this can lead to us forgetting about some important points of home upkeep! Whether you choose a couple or all of the points listed, it is meant to provide a framework for what things you might want to look at that often slip our minds, or perhaps your process already covers these points, in that case bravo!

Summer

  1. Clean and inspect the dryer vent and exhaust ducts

  2. Check for pests (termites, ants, rodents, etc.)

  3. Deep clean garage, dispose of unused chemicals or paints

  4. Test your irrigation system

  5. Inspect and clean gutterrs again after late spring storms

  6. Seal driveway if needed

  7. Check fence posts and decking for rot or loose boards

  8. Service lawn equipment (sharpen mower blades, change oil)

  9. Touch up exterior paint or caulking on siding, windows, and trim

  10. Test carbon monoxide detectors

These are a couple of some of the great tips I use myself and have heard through the homeowner grapevine, but if you have any other important tips or have questions regarding some of these tasks feel free to let me know!
